Day 01:Ha Noi - Lang Son - Cao Bang

This morning, you depart Hanoi for a three-hour drive on National Highway 1A to Lang Son City. When you arrive in this border city, you will go to the local market. Continue along spectacular mountain roads to Cao Bang, with breathtaking views of lush valleys, village hamlets, and distant mountains. When you arrive in Cao Bang, a small town near the Chinese border, take a short walk to see the colorful mountain tribes that live here.

Day 02:Hanoi City Tour

After breakfast, you will travel to Trung Khanh, a district near Vietnam’s northern border with China. The Nung people will be introduced to you in the village of Phuoc Sen, a small village famous for the manufacture of farming tools. The Nungs, like the Tays, make their living primarily through farming the terraced rice paddies that you will see all around you as you travel to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the breathtakingly majestic falls that mark the border between Vietnam and China. There will be time to take in the scenery and soak in the sublime atmosphere of Vietnam’s most beautiful waterfall before making your way to the Nguom Ngao “Tiger Cave,” which is known for its amazing limestone formations. You will then travel to Ba Be Lake and spend the night in a traditional Tay ethnic family’s home. You can unwind from the day at the homestay and enjoy a meal of home-cooked local cuisine.

Day 03:Hanoi – Laocai – Sapa

You can relax on board, go wildlife spotting, or cool off by jumping into the cool, clean waters for a refreshing swim! While floating on Ba Be Lake, you can take in the scenery of the surrounding karsts, which are adorned with patches of wild vegetation and are home to a variety of interesting creatures. The boat rides along the Nang River, with time to explore the stunning Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto where you can explore the stalactites and stalagmites formed by the river’s erosion on the karst, and keep an eye out for the thousands-strong bat colony. You will depart for the approximately 150-mile drive back to Hanoi (230 kilometers). Before returning to your hotel in the bustling city of Hanoi, we will stop at some hills tea plantations.
