Day 01:Hanoi Arrival

Welcome to Hanoi: Vietnam’s bustling colonial capital. Your driver and guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area of Noi Bai International Airport and transport you to your hotel in the city center. In the afternoon, enjoy an orientation cyclo tour around Hanoi’s Old Quarter then savor a welcome dinner at one of the city’s finest restaurants.

Day 02:Hanoi City Tour - Night train to Lao Cai

You have the entire day today to explore Vietnam’s charming capital. Hanoi is an eclectic mix that offers something for everyone, with its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes, and ancient oriental pagodas. Your city tour will take you to Hanoi’s key sites: the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt house); the Presidential Palace; the nearby One Pillar Pagoda; the Temple of Literature; West Lake; the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda & Quan Thanh Temple; and one of the city’s museums (a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum). Enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance in the evening, a unique Vietnamese art form originating in Southeast Asia’s wet-rice culture, before heading to the train station to catch your night train to Lao Cai.

Day 03:Lao Cai - Sapa

The train arrives in Lao Cai early in the morning. Have breakfast at a local restaurant then embark on a scenic drive up the mountain to Sapa: Northwest Vietnam’s premier travel destination. Sapa was founded as a hilltop retreat for French administrators seeking to escape the summer heat, perched 1,600 meters above cavernous valleys and terraced rice paddies. Home to many hill tribe peoples, Sapa’s diverse cultures and seclusion give it a unique charm. Check in at the hotel (if a room is available before 2 p.m.) and take a walking tour around the enchanting town to enjoy the fresh mountain air.

Day 04:Sapa - Fansipan Trekking

Fansipan Mountain, Vietnam’s tallest peak, towers in alpine splendor above Sapa. After breakfast at the hotel, depart on your adventure, hiking through cascading rice terraces to many of the surrounding hill tribe villages. Stop for a picnic lunch at an altitude of 1,300 meters before continuing your trek to night’s campsite (1,650 meters ASL). Your guide and posters will pitch the tents and prepare a delicious campfire dinner.

Day 05:Fansipan Trekking

Spend the entire day trekking up Fansipan Mountain. The hike can be physically demanding at times and necessitates some physical preparation. Stop for lunch on a ridge 2,200 meters above sea level. Stretch your legs and take in the stunning views of the Sapa Valley before continuing to the night’s campsite at 2,900 meters above sea level.

Day 06:Fansipan Trekking

The adventure continues as you ascend Fansipan Summit, reaching an elevation of 3,143 meters. Weave through bamboo forests as we ascend the mountain’s steep path. The hike is difficult, but the panoramic views from the “roof of Vietnam” make the effort worthwhile. At the summit, eat lunch and relax while taking in the raw beauty of the wilderness. Descend in the afternoon and spend the night at yesterday’s campsite.

Day 07:Fansipan Trekking - Sapa

Have breakfast at the campsite before beginning your descent back to Sapa. You take your time descending the steep trails, admiring the surrounding mist-woven mountains and distant villages. Your expedition concludes in Sapa with a farewell dinner at one of the town’s famous restaurants, the ideal way to thank the local team.

Day 08:Sapa- Lao Cai - Night train back to Hanoi

Take advantage of a free day to explore Sapa at your leisure. Explore the local market and orchid garden, go to Dragon Mountain, or simply sit back and relax. Leave Sapa in the late afternoon for the Lao Cai Station, where you will catch your train back to Hanoi.
