Detailed Itinerary:

Here is how the nine days unfold, from a cyclo ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter to the moment you stand on the summit of Fansipan. Every part of it can be adjusted: add a night where you want to linger, swap an activity or change your hotel class, and we will shape the plan around you.

Day 01:Hanoi Arrival – Welcome Dinner

Welcome to Hanoi, a capital of lakes, tree-lined boulevards and a thousand years of history.

Arrival

Your driver and guide meet you outside the baggage hall at Noi Bai International Airport and take you to your hotel in the city centre.

Afternoon

Climb into a cyclo for an easy introduction to the Old Quarter, gliding past shophouses, street food stalls and craftsmen at work in the narrow lanes.

Evening

Raise a glass to the climb ahead over a welcome dinner at one of the city’s finest restaurants.

Meals: Dinner. Accommodation: Hotel in Hanoi.

Day 02:Hanoi City Tour – Night Train to Lao Cai

A full day to explore Hanoi before the night train carries you north into the mountains.

Morning

Begin at the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where the granite Mausoleum stands beside the modest stilt house in which the country’s founding father lived and worked. See the yellow Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda, rising from its pond like a lotus flower, then visit the Temple of Literature, home to Vietnam’s first university.

Afternoon

Head to West Lake for the ancient Tran Quoc Pagoda and the nearby Quan Thanh Temple, then choose one of the city’s museums: the History Museum for the story of Vietnam through the ages, or the Museum of Ethnology for the traditions of its many ethnic groups.

Evening

Watch a water puppet show, a uniquely Vietnamese art born in the flooded rice paddies of the north, then transfer to the station to board your overnight train to Lao Cai.

Good to know: the Museum of Ethnology is closed on Mondays. You travel in an air-conditioned soft sleeper cabin.
