Detailed Itinerary:

Here is how the six days unfold, from the Shwedagon at sunset to the stalls of Bogyoke Market, with two days of village trekking in between. Every part of it can be adjusted: add a night where you want to linger, swap an activity or change your hotel class, and we will shape the plan around you.

Day 01:Yangon Arrival – City Sightseeing

Mingalabar, and welcome to Myanmar. Your first afternoon takes you straight into the colonial heart of Yangon and up to its golden crown.

Arrival

Your local guide welcomes you at Yangon International Airport and takes you to your hotel to check in.

Afternoon

Head into the city centre to Sule Pagoda, a golden stupa in the middle of a roundabout, and the grand colonial buildings around Maha Bandula Park. Then stroll through the narrow, busy lanes of Chinatown, with a short stop at a Taoist temple.

Late afternoon

Shortly before sunset, climb to the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred Buddhist site in Myanmar. Its bell-shaped stupa rises nearly 100 metres and has been covered in gold by devout Buddhists over the centuries, and as the evening light softens the whole pagoda seems to glow.

Good to know: shoes and socks are removed at all pagodas, and shoulders and knees should be covered.

Accommodation: Hotel in Yangon.

Day 02:Yangon – Fly to Heho – Kalaw Trek

Fly into the Shan Hills and set off on foot from Kalaw, an old British hill station, into a landscape of farms, forest and hill tribe villages.

Morning

After breakfast, take a morning flight to Heho and drive to Kalaw to begin your trek. Early on, a viewpoint gives you a sweeping look over the trail and the hills ahead.

Midday

Afternoon

Continue for about three hours along country paths to Pyin Thar village.

Evening

Spend the night with a local family in the village, sharing dinner and a glimpse of everyday life in the hills.
