Welcome To Koh Lanta

The Andaman Island That Never Hurries

Koh Lanta is a long, narrow island south of Krabi, with a string of sandy beaches along its west coast that all face the sunset. It has developed steadily, but it has kept a calm, unhurried feel, with low-rise resorts, small beach restaurants and very little nightlife. Families and couples who want to slow down tend to love it.

On the east coast, Lanta Old Town is a quiet strip of wooden houses and shops built on stilts over the water, home to Thai Buddhist, Muslim, Chinese and Chao Leh sea-gypsy communities. At the southern tip, Mu Ko Lanta National Park has a lighthouse, a jungle trail and a rocky bay, and boats leave for snorkelling around Koh Rok and Koh Ha.

Our Honest Take
